This week folks, there will be no beating up on Ray Lewis or the Baltimore Colts. I like Ray Lewis. He's the kind of football player that may be lost in all the new rules in the NFL but he can hide breaking those rules pretty well and that's the mark of a great, Hall of Famer. I love this statement by Ray:
"You bet. We own the Titans. I remember the good old days when I would blow up Eddie George with a big hit. Now, they've got another running back with two first names, Travis Henry, whom I plan on blowing up in the same manner." How true Mr. Lewis!
While the Steelers attempt to beat up on the Ravens this upcoming Sunday night, I do hope Ray is well enough to play. I heard he was hurt but no Raven/Steeler match up is the same without Ray!
For the past three weeks, I've cajoled, offered insight, and was down right ugly to some of the teams the Steelers were scheduled to play. We lost two out of those three games.
I'm done bashing the other team (unless it's Bill Bella-Cheat or Tom Bradylicious). Those two don't belong in the NFL.
A Phoenix sports reporter, Bob Young (who is a GOD) wrote a nice pretend letter to Bella-Cheat from Mensa. Young felt Bella-Cheat should be kicked out of Mensa. (Is he in Mensa?). He stated near the end of the letter that Bella-Cheat's scores on the Mensa test were not adequate and, therefore, Bella-Cheat would have to immediately return his Provisional Mensa International Member's Card, BUT, could keep the complimentary 2-point conversion decoder ring as a gift. He ended the pretend letter to Bella-Cheat by saying, "Wishing you were smarter." Indeed Mr. Young, indeed!
As I said, there will be no beating up on Ray Lewis this week because he's a classy guy and one of those guys who made the NFL a better place last year, especially when Bradylicious was out.
Hmmm, while I say I won't beat up on any other opposing team the Steelers play, the Patriots, to me, are fair game. We don't play them in the regular season this year, but I'll have lots to say at playoff time. Lots and lots.
