It was a tough break for Peyton Manning last Sunday. Colts Coach Jim Caldwell in his first year, decided Peyton didn't need that 16-0 record and pulled him in the third quarter.
All this brought were boos from fans and scores from the New York Jets and their rookie quarterback, Mark Sanchez. The Jets went on to win the game 29-15 upsetting not only fans of the Colts everywhere but you could also see it on Peyton's face.
True to form, however, Peyton met the press in support of the decision to "rest" him so he'll be OK for the playoffs and possible Super Bowl. It's likely they'll let Peyton start in their last game but he'll be pulled for sure again by Coach Caldwell.
It's hard not to like and enjoy Peyton Manning. He's funny, we all love his commercials and he seems like he could be your next door neighbor out mowing his lawn. He seems approachable.
No one wants to see their starters hurt, but with only two games left, why not trust your offensive line to protect your quarterback and go for that 16-0 record? Not since the Miami Dolphins in 1972, has any team won all of their games and the Super Bowl. Maybe Peyton could have had a chance.
Yes it was a tough break for Peyton Manning and his fans everywhere. Here at jeanlovesyoulongtime, we love Peyton and yeah, we'd ask him to loan us a hammer if he lived next door. We bet he'd accept.
